The best way to make mesos in MapleStory Classic World at launch is the quest list: one level 35 jump quest pays 10,000 mesos on its own. After that it's drops sold to NPCs, scrolls and stars sold to players, and crafting materials, in that order.
The catch is that nobody has published measured mesos-per-hour numbers for Classic World yet. Nexon doesn't list meso drop ranges, and the fan databases say so plainly. What follows is the method, the quests and the drops that are confirmed, checked on 22 October against Nexon's release notes and the mapleclassic.wiki quest data.
These are the meso rewards in the mapleclassic.wiki quest data at launch, sorted by level. Most pay EXP as well, so they double as levelling.
Shumi's jump quest is the one to plan for: 10,000 mesos at level 35 is nearly as much as the whole level 21 to 30 list put together. It's a platforming test, so budget a few attempts. Riel's Florina Beach chain comes two levels later and pays a similar total across its parts.
NPC prices are fixed, so the question is which drops are worth more to a player. Community drop tables for Classic World point to these. Prices move with supply, so check the Free Market before you set a figure.
Crafting materials are the quiet one. Leather, Pig Ribbons and Fragments of Magic feed the six trades, so a crafter will pay above NPC price for a stack. Pig Beach is the classic source: Leather, Stiff Feathers and Pig's Heads, with Iron Hog respawning hourly.
Selling in Classic World is face to face, or from a shop you set up in the Free Market, and both need a little preparation.
